Mr. Foster seems willing to come to their every "Beck and Call", which sometimes comes in the aiding of sick animals at night and even to discussing meal plan ning. The complete surprise was car ried out perfectly with the help of Mr. Sam Miller, who called on Mr. Foster for some farm advice cen cerning the construction of his Dairy barn. Although it was dark, Mr. Miller stated that Mr. Foster, with the aid of a flash light, pro ceeded to give out detailed informa tion concerning the interior plan ning of the barn, without any knowledge of what was happening. On his return he found the tables were filled with various kinds of sandwiches, hore d'oeuvres, punch. ice cream and delicious home made cake. All of this was furnished by members of the class, with the birthday cake and candles being Riven by Mr. and Mrs. George Cooper. ' very useful array of gifts were t'ven by all. Where the class calls for a plate, tray; peck or bushel, the individual specimente should be as nearly alike in size, shape and col or as possible and should have the true characteristics of that particu lar variety. Potatoes need not be washed unless it will improve their appearance. However, if not washed they should be brushed with a soft brush or cloth. Flower exhibits call f or perfec tion. Good stems, good healthy fol iage, and a perfect bloom are es sential. It is important to have flowers in g ood condition at the time of judging. A rose bloom should be from one-half to three fourths open a tight bud will not be considered by the judges. Fruits, such as apples and pears, should have true varietal charact eristics, should be well colored and not over-ripe. They should be free fom disease and insect damage. Stems should not be emoved tomy apples a nd pears. All speciments in a plate or tray should be uniform in size, shape, and color. , Drive-In en make no charse for services rendered.
