Warsaw has extended an invitation to the Ladles of the Turkey W. S. C. S. to attend this study . Club Meet The Mineral Springs Home Dem onstration Club met Wednesday af ternoon, September IS, at the Bow den Community Church. Mm. Lean Taylor; And Mrs. Norman Parks were hostesses. Mrs. Parks, presi dent, Jp ided. The meeting opened with singing '"God Bless Our Homes". Mrs. Parks was in charge of the Devotional. Mrs. R. A. Wil liams led in Prayer. The secretary's reporV was given by Mrs. Taylor. During the business session it was announced that Dr.. Arnold Hoff man ol Raleigh would speak at Kenansvllle on "Church Music" on October 3 at 3 p. m. This meeting will be held at the Kenansvllle School. Plans were discussed to help a needy family. The demonstration was "Furnish ing Homes For Children", the im portance of furnishing a home to suit a child's need was stressed. Things should be their size so that they would be able to care for their clothes and toys also other person al things. Mrs. R. A. Williams gave a talk on; "Citizenship", Mrs. E. B. Hales spoke on'"ou Can Bring the Bible Into the Home", bring its teachings to bear on every human experience. To make it real use the following Inscription "Christ is the Head ot the House", the silent listener to Home Gardeners Resume Meetings For Year The Home Gardners held their first fall meeting Wednesday after noon, September 15, at three-thirty at the home of Mrs. Glenn Brown with Mrs. Charles Sheffield co- hostess. Mrs. Bill Sheffield, president, presided. The meeting opened with the Club Collect. During the busi ness Mrs. Pill Taylor, Artistic Ar rangement Chairman, made a report on the practice flower show which the club is to present in October. Further plans were discussed and much enthusiasm was shown. Mrs. Bill Taylor and Mrs. Earl Huie presented an excellent pre gra mon "Helpful Hints in Flower Arraneeing", at which time they completed many lovely arrange ments, discussing as they arranged the container, materials and the lines used in the arrangements. All members were Better informed af t' this very enlightening program and were urged to put much thought toward the coming show. The hostess served a salad course with hot tea to: Mrs. Bill Sheffield, Mrs. J. T. Gresham, Mrs. J. M. Kor negay, Mrs. John Vincent, Mrs. El bert Matthie, Mrs. John Anderson Johnson, Mrs. Rivers Johnson, Jr.. Mrs. W. J. Middleton, Jr., Mrs. Earl Huie. Mrs. John Fonvielle, Mrs. James Franklin Strickland, Mrs. Bill Taylor and Mrs. Maurice Jor dan. W. M. U. Hold Meet At Baptist The W. M. U. of the Baptist church held its general meeting at tbe church Monday evening with fifty-four members present. The op ening song was "I Love To Tell the Story" followed by a prayer by Mrs. N. A. Mitchell. During the business session the following gave reports: Mrs. George Bennett, secretarial; Mrs. W. D. Byrd, Community Missions; Mrs. Oscar Best, literature. Mrs. J. E. West, president, stressed, the need of the study and use of the standard of excellence.: The entire topic for the 'new year's plan of work for W. M. U. will be building the "Highway for God", a scroll which was prepared by Mrs. Green- Mrs. R. Blackmore Hostess At Bridge Mrs. Robert Blackmore was host ?s to her bridge club and Mrs. Ed ?ar Pollock as guest on Wednesday afternoon. Upon arrival the hostess served a salad plate and coffee. Prize winners were: High score, pansy dish, Mrs. N. A. Mitchell; low, frozen blue berries, Mrs. Allen Draughan; Mrs. Pollock was remem bered with a milk glass nut dish. Others playing were: Mrs. L. S. Whittle, Mrs. J. P. Harmon, Mrs. Robert West and Mrs. Paul Berry. law outlining the years plan of work was shown. The topic for the evening was "A Saviour Sufficient for Leaders of Youth". Mrs. N. A. Mitchell had charge of the program'and gave the devotional. Mrs, Avon "Sharpe gave a brief outline of her work with the Y. W. A. Mrs. Eugene Johnston told of her work with the G. A. Mrs. Greenlaw reported on the R. A. and Mrs. Ed Polinski the sunbeams. Mrs. Allen Draughan assisted with the program. The benedictory prayer was rendered by Mrs- Joins vielle.
