Home Gardener's Hold Business Meet Preceding the opening of the Home Gardeners practice flower show Wednesday afternoon at three thirty at the Fireside Room at the Methodist Church the club held a brief meeting. Mrs. Bill Sheffield, president, pre sided over the business and then turned the meeting over to Mrs. Bill Taylor, artistic arrangement chair man, who gave the members the judges decision on the arrangements they had made. Mrs. Taylor gave helpful criticism as well as the good points. The hostesses, Mrs. W. J. Middle ton, Jr., and Mrs. J. N. West, Jr., served iced drinks and cookies. Birthday Party Mrs. Paul Britt honored her son, Paul, on his seventh birthday at a party on Saturday afternoon. Upon arrival the little guests en joyed many outdoor games. Before this show, from everywhere I heard " just can't make an arrangement' or "I Just dread making an arrange ment!" and so more of us really know what to expect But when I walked into the Fireside Room of the Methodist Church on Wednes day afternoon and saw such a love ly array of flowers, well arranged, nice blue, red and .yellow ribbons attached, I was naturally shocked, but very proud of our club. For surely one can hardly imagine see ing so many lovely flowers in one room. Among oiners wno neipea to inlance this room other than mep bers of the club were Mrs. Sterling Marriner who made a beautiful ar rangement in a pumpkin on the mantle and Mrs. M. A. Smith who planned and beautifully carried out breakfast table setting. Committees which made it possi ble for us to have our show were: Mrs. John A. Johnson and Mrs. Bill Sheffield, set up committee. Mrs. John Vincent and Mrs. Morris Jor dan, clean up committee and Mrs. O. S. Matthews, Mrs. Bill Taylor, Mrs. Earl Huie and Mrs. Charles Sheffield who were in charge of en tries, classification and served as clerks and most important of all to our show were our judges, Mrs. E P.
