Prepared Mince Pie Is Latest Convenience Food When Grandmother started her mincemeat pies for the holidays, she faced long sessions in her old fashioned kitchen, cutting up beef and suet and chopping the citron, apples, orange peel and other in gredients. Now her granddaughter can walk into the grocery and buy a delicious mince pie made from an old tradi tional holiday recipe, packed in its own pie-pan can, ready to bake and serve. This new mince pie, weighing over a pound, comes completely sealed in top and bottom crusts. It does not require refrigeration. The pies can be kept indefinitely on your pantry shelf, ready for com pany. - The pies are very easy to prepare just remove the lid with a wall type or twist around can opener, pop into an oven preheated to 429 degrees, and bake for 25 minutes. Out of the oven comes a delicious pie of delicately spiced mincemeat with tender, flaky crust and a real old-fashioned home-made flavor. Delicious when served hot right from the oven, or if you prefer an added touch, serve with your own brandy sauce or hard sauce, or with Ice cream. Or the pie can be a per fect snack treat It is so rich it serves four nicely. Save the attractive pie-pan can as it has many helpful uses around the household. Just recently put on store shelves in this area, in time for Thanksgiv ing, this new pie is known as Din ner Time Mince Pie. It was develop ed by Trenton Foods, Inc. of Kan sas City which recently pioneered Dinner Time Chicken and Beef Pot Pies that require no refrigeration. The mince pies sell for about 59 cents each. .
