Alderman, Sr of Rose Hill, director Of the Faison Glee Club, announced that the combined Glee Club, which are grades four through the eighth of the Faison School, will present a Christinas Carol Program on Tuesday After noon, December 20, at 1:30 p.m. at the school. The public is invited to attend. Jr.'s Christmas Party The Junior First and Second De partments of the Baptist framing Union enjoyed a Christmas party on Friday evening at 6:30 o'clock, given by their leaders, Mrs. Harry Davis and Mrs. Albert Cottle at the home of the latter. On arrival, guests were served re freshments consisting of sandwich es, hot chocolate and cake. Afterwards, several entertaining games were played in the den, di rected by Mrs. Cottle. The group thn joined together in singing Christmas carols. Those attending were Edith Mae Wells, Jack Cottle, Brenda Boykln, Janice Newton, Jay Cottle, ixiis Hawes, Ann Davis, Gladys and Dorothy Cole, Janet, Joe Ann and Dean Rae Johnson. The living room of the home was graced with a lovely dried flower arrangement. Fruit and greenery was Used for decorations in the din inz room. A chicken salad plate was served guests upon arrival and during pro gression soft drinks were served. When scores were tallied, Mrs. Robert Frederick received club high, Congress Cards; Miss Annie Mae Brown, visitors, a bird cake planter, and Mrs. Gerald Carr re ceived a ring holder as bingo prize. Cub Scouts The Den Mothers of the Rose Hill Cub Scout Pack met recently and made plans for their weekly Decem ber meetings. Den mothers for the Packs are Mrs. B. B. Longest, Mrs. R. E. Fussell, Mrs. H. S. Johnson, Jr., Mrst Robert Fields and Mrs. Ed win Teachey. Their theme for the mpptings is "Christmas in other Lands" and will present facts about the customs in oher lands. The scouts will in clude making gifts for their parents as their handiwork. The dens will meet jointly the third week in Dec ember to prepare baskets for needy families and shut-ins. Herring Wins High Score Mrs. Robert Frederick was hostess tc her bridge club on Thursday eve ning at her home. The home was attractively decorated in the Christmas motif. A dried flower arrangement was used in the dining room and an ar rangement of white chrysanthe mums and greenery decorated the living room. Mrs. Robert Herring recevied an attractive crystal candy dish .as high score prize. During play, the hostess served cheese wafers and Coca Colas and Virginia fruit cake and coffee at the conclusion to Mesdames Herring R. S. Troy, Byron Teachey, W. H. Saunders, W. H. Fussell, Dan Fus sell and Miss Elizabeth Farlow. Mrs. W. R. Teachey Entertains Club Mrs. William R. Teachey enter tained members of her bridge club cn Tuesday evening at 8:00 o'clock. Blanlon Teaches Study "The Moslem World" was the in teresting foreign mission study. which was taken up by the Wo man's Missionary Society, Girls Auxiliary, Young Woman's Aux iliary and Royal Ambassadors, Thursday evening. December 8th at the Rose Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. P. G. Blanton was the teach er of the study on the Moslem faith. She was assisted by Mesdames N. Z. Teachey, W. S. Wells, W. B. Haw es and W. T. Blanchard. Lois Fussell and Sue Lynn Teach ey, presented a program of special music. A film entitled "Bilm and Gilepd" was shown by W. T. Blan chard. Following the study, the group enjoyed a social hour and refresh ments consisting of fruit salad, cookies and coffee were served Mos lem style. Linda Herring Feled At Parly Linda Herring, daughter, of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Herring celebrat ed her 6th birthday on Saturday afternoon at her home from 3:00 until 4:30 o'clock. Several indoor games were play ed, directed by Linda's mother, Ann Saunders and Clayton Herring, Jr. In keeping with the Christmas motif, a lovely three tiered birth day 'cake, with red candles, center ed the serving table. Red candles in crystal holders surrounded by greenery, were also used on the table.
