The County Council of the Ne
gro Home Demonstration Clubs of
Duplin County met Monday night
at the E. E. Smith High School.
The council had as their special
guest, Mr. Windsor Johnson, Chair
man of the Negro Division ol the
March of Dimes. Mr. Johnson gave
a very inspiring lecture demon
stration with the use of slides on
Patient Aid, Professional Educa
tion, Prevention and Research of
Infantile Paralysis.
Mr. Johnson was presented a
check for fifty dollars ($50.00) by
the Council of Negro Home Dem
onstration Clubs as their contribu
tion toward the March of Dimes.
New officers were elected. Mrs.
Margaret Hill of Chinquapin was
elected President; Mrs. Edna Wal
lace of Wallace, Vice President; Mrs.
Pauline Kenan of Kenansville, Sec
retary; Mrs. Marie Branch of
Branch, Assistant Secretary and
Mrs. Ezzie Bryant of Stanford, Trea
surer. New Council Project Leaders
were also selected.
' Plans for the Annual Popularity
Contest were completed. This pro
gram will be held the 4th Sunday
in March at the Chinquapin Baptist
Church. Plans for the State Coun
cil meeting which will be held in
