Groome. , Bogers, who was formerly chief ' of police of ' Warsaw for eleven years; has replaced R. M. Byrd, who . has been appointed a Duplin County Deputy Sheriff. Rogers said today that . he has "held various positions since the job . IS chief of police in Warsaw five years ago, but is looking forward , to his new assignment. Rogers is presently living in War saw, but will make his home in Faison as soon as a goitable home can be located. i , Byrd has already taken a posi tion with the Duplin County Sher iff's office. He will continue to make his home in Faison. Before resigning the position as chief of police Byrd had served for 22 years. He began working with the department in 1935. 4Year0ld Run Over By Truck In Faison Johnnie Carter, 4-year-old son ; ot Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Carter, of :". He suffered lacerations around : the shoulders and received a slight '' brain 'concussion. The child was : toeated at Sampson Memorial Hos pital. Patrolman Rogers said the truck was traveling at about 15 to 20 miles per hour. Miss Belle Lee Graduates U.N.C. Mrs. C. D. Lee and Mrs. W. M. Baugham attended graduation exer cises at U.N.C in Chapel Hill Mon day Miss Belle Lee was a member of the graduating class. She return ed with them Tuesday and will be at home with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Lee for the summer. A lost opportunity is the greatest of losses.
