Reports were that most damage was from the 'high winds, although where roofs were disrupted, fur niture in one or more cottages was completely soaked. C. State Fair, in Raleigh, in October. Newman returned to Duplin County in January of this yrar, after having been a resident of Western North Carolina for a time.
