It Is called the hot gas or vaporized . treatment: It Js used in the same' manner, as the liquid or cold treatment except that the methyl bromide liquid is ton' Verted to a vapor or gas as it is applied by the use of water heated to temperatures of 180 degrees T. to boiling. the methyl , bromide cans are opened they are placed in the hot water which converts the liquid to a vapor or gas. The hot gas treatment has certain advan tages over the liquid method. Plas tic covers can be removed at the end of six hours as compared to the j usual 24 to 48 hours required foi the cold treatment. The shorter treating time is accomplished sin ce the vaporized methyl bromide starts killing weed seeds and nem atodes .immediately after .applied. More beds can be treated with the same cover in; . a given - period of time. Also more plant .bed yardage can be treated during the tune that the soil moisture 'and temperature are right for treating. 1 SHOPPING- iiliiSISSlK ,v.rji;:::hte n. ...2 co. Quality Furri.
