HearfAf Hand I Cotton farmers don't have much longer to decide whether they will plant their cotton acreage or re- i lease it O. L. Holland, Chairman I of. the . Duplin County . Agricultu-1 ral Stabilization and Conservation Committee, expressed the hope that all cotton farmers will get a I clear picture of the choice they j have to make before the deadline. tor releasing cotton acreage. Holland says that the deadline is March 23, 1962, but that he ho pes alt cotton that won't be plan ted will be released, to the ASC county committee aa soon as the farmer has decided what he in tends, to do. ' 1 Tfolland says that complete re lease of coton acreage which will not be planted this year could go a long way toward solving the problems of cotton farmers, gin ners, and processors. If Duplin County cotton farmers do not plant their full acreage or take advantage of the acreage release provision they will bring about a considerable cut in this county's cotton acreage. With cotton bring ing nearly 40 million dollars an nually to farmers in this st&te we just can't afford to reduce farm income in this manner. According to Holland, though, all the advantages from releas ing and reapportioning cotton ac reage does not go only to the far mer who will be able to plant the released acreage this year. The farmer wfio released the ac reage benefits .just.
