held Sunday afternoon 3 o'clock
from the Faison Penfecostal Holi-

i Fred Weaver, in charge. Assisting
, was the Pev. Ed Summerlin of Mt.
Olive Burial was in the Faison
cemetery .
! Carter was the victim of acciden
tal drowning Thursday afternoon
' when he apparently fell from Gosh
en bridge on Highway 117 between
' Calypso and Faison. Duplin Coro
1 nor Hector McNeill of Warsaw has
ruled tlv death accidental. He had
been fishing from the bridge.
Surviving are his wife, the former
Ruby Miller of Faisori; his mother,
Mrs, Kathleen Carter of reute. 3,

The family of Mr. George Cowan
wishes to express its sincere appre
ciation lor the alertness of local
firemen, Alfred Basden, and for
the fast and efficient service or the
Beulaville Volunteer Fire Depart
ment. Within ten minutes after placing
a call lo the Department, these men
were at the scene. 8 miles from Beu
laville. of what ml"ht have been a
serious and costly fire.
Rasden was passing the residence
and observed the blaze on the roof
,t a chicken house. He immediately
notified the family and a call was
placed to the Fire Department, pro-,-hieiiv
the aid of two fire trucks.
Beulaville citizens and surround
in residents should indeed have
the right to be proud of the volun
teer firemen for protecting lives
and property.
