Miss Merle Owens, junior student
of the Wilson School of Nursing,
will deport from Kaleigh May 17, by
train, to represent her school at
the National student Nurses Asso
ciation Convention in Detroit, Michi
gan, May 18-22.
Miss Owens, of Kinston, is a 1960
graduate of James Kenan High
School. She is now serving as Vice
I'ersident of her class and First
Vice President of the Student Gov
ernment. She is also an active mem
ber of the Christian Student Union.
Miss Owens is a member of the By
Laws Committee of District VI Stu
dent Nurses Association. She is a
candidate for nominee for the office
of president of the District.
The theme of the convention is
"Not for Ourselves, but for Others".
Each phase of the convention has
been designed to reflect this theme
to the fullest. Dr. Robert K. Morton,
