Haley Grimsley added an as sist. BASKETBALL DCCC offers camp Davidson County Com munity College will con duct a camp June 28-July 2 for players grades 4-12. The camp will run each day from 8:30 a.m.-noon. The goal of the camp is to give campers instruc tion in the fundamentals of basketball as well as emphasize team play and sportsmanshit). Camp ers will be divided into groups based on age and ability level. Instruction will be provided by mem bers of DCCC coaching staff, players and other area coaches. Cost is $75 per camper. GOLF Fundraiser tournament The Cap and Mabel Bur row Foundation will hold a fundraising golf tour nament to raise funds to support the Foundation’s efforts to meet the needs of people with mental iUness, developmental disabilities and addictive diseases. The captain’s choice golf tournament wiU be held May 4 at HoHy Ridge Golf Links, in Archdale, with a 1:30 p;m. start time. Cost per player is $75 and includes a round,of golf, golfer goodie bag, snacks and beverages throughout the game, and dinner following tournament play. Prizes wiU be awarded for the first, second and third place teams as well as for closest to the pin and lon gest putt. Various sponsorships are available including Eagle, Birdie, Par and Hole Sponsors. Organiz ers are also seeking si lent auction items for the event. The Cap and Mabel Burrow Foundation is a non-profit agency that works throughout the year to provide addition al support to meet the medical, social, housing, transportation and other needs of people with de velopmental disabilities, mental illness and sub stance abuse issues. The- Foundation provides help to people through out Randolph County, the SandhiUs area, the Tri ad, Chatham, Wake and Johnston counties. The class is from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. This class is mandatory for anyone wishing to get a concealed handgun per mit. The class is covered by Jason Livingston, N.C. certified firearms in structor and 16 years law enforcement experience. The class covers laws for citizens governing the use of deadly force to pro tect their homes, as weU as deadly force laws in general as they pertain to citizens of N.C. Also, gun safety, marksmanship and fundamentals are covered and practiced during the class, with hands on range time.
