Davidson County Department of Se
nior Services has collected recipes from
seniors and the community and com-
pOed them into an attractive cookbook,
“Tasty Traditions II.”
The cookbook contains 546 delicious
recipes, Including main dishes, appetiz
ers, desserts and many others. Each rec
ipe will feature the contributor’s name
so everyone can easily locate the favor
ite recipes of their family and friends.
Books are $10 each.

Taste of the Town advance tickets
Advance tickets for Hospice of the
Piedmont’s 22nd annual Taste of the
Town fundraiser are on sale. The event
is Tuesday, Aug. 17, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
at Showplace in downtown High Point.
Tickets may be purchased at the Hos
pice office, 1801 Westchester Drive, in
High Point, Monday through Friday
from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and at www.hospi-
cetaste.com. Tickets purchased online
wUl be at WUl CaU on the evening of the
event.
Entry tickets are $5 each — chUdren
six 6 under enter free — and food “taste”
tickets are $1 each. Samples range from
one to four tickets depending on the
item. More than 60 Triad restaiuants,
caterers, bakeries and beverage ven
dors are participating. AH proceeds
benefit the local Hospice.
Tickets wUl be sold at the entrance to
Showplace, 211 E. Commerce Ave., in
High Point, on the evening of the event
beginning at 5:30 p.m., but advance
ticket holders receive express entrance.
Each entry ticket is also a chance to win
the grand prize drawing of a $250 shop
