Luminary service HoUy HiU Memorial Park wUl hold a 2010 Holiday Candlelight Luminary on Saturday, Dec. 11, with a rain date on Sunday Dec. 12. First St., in Lexington. The North Carolina Home Protection Program and Loan Fund (HPP) provides temporary finan cial assistance to workers who have lost their job due to changing economic con ditions and are facing possible foreclo sure. Coimselors wUl assist with gain ing access to funding for homeo-wners. These services are provided by the Lex-- Ington Homeo-wnership Center (LHC) in partnership with Consiuner Credit Counseling of Greensboro, Davidson Community Action and the North Caro lina Housing Finance Agency. Foreclo sure prevention counseling is currently avaUable at the LHC but wUl expand to gain unemployed homeowners assis tance imder the newest guidelines. Counselors can determine if homeowners qualify for the Home Protection Program to help those strug gling to make their mortgage payments due to job loss or unforeseen financial difficulties.
