Carrboro Mr. and Mrs. Thurman Best spent last week in the mountains, of western North Carolina. They also visited across the border into Tennessee. Weatherspoon in Bahama last weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Weather spoon are former residents of Carrboro. Mrs. Avery Andrews and young daughter are spending several weeks with Mrs. Andrews’ parents in Pulaski, Va. Bob Bowen, who has been, re ceiving treatment for 10 days in Watts hospital; was able to return home last Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mann left last Friday for a visit with Mrs. Mann’s relatives in Louisiarma. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Buff and Miss Charlotte Buff drove up from Florida last week and have been visiting friends here. Mr' and Mrs., Buff lormerly lived in Carrboro. The Rev. William H. Poole, pas tor of the Carrboro Baptist church, attended th| special session of the State Baptist Convention held at Greensboro First Baptist Church on Tuesday of this week to consider the proposal to move Wake Forest College to Winston-Salem. J. C. Merritt is ill at his home here. He suffered a slight stroke last Sunday morning. Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Poole visited Mr. Poole’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Poole, in Knightdale at the weekend Cedar Grove The Young People of the Eno Presbyterian Church held their regular meeting Monday evening at the home of Miss Evelyn Stew art. Mrs. Vira Wilkerson underwent an operation in Alamance General hospital Saturday. She is getting along nicely. , Mrs. John Wilson and Mrs. Fred Reitzel.and son visited Mrs. Hobart McCullock Thursday afternoon. Miss Eunice Wright of Burling ton visited her mother, Mrs. Car rie Wright, Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Vahce Terrell and daughter, Miss Helen Terrell of Richmond, Va., spent a few days here with Mr. Terrell’s sister, Miss Minnie Terrell. Miss Alice Hughes, A. A. Ellis and Mrs. T. C. Ellis visited at Pros pect Hill last Thursday afternoon. C. M. Hughes of Durham was in Cedar Grove Saturday. Robert Oliver of Durham spent Saturday with his parents here. New Insurance Plan in Effect Free . hospitalization protection for all employees of the Carrboro Woolen Mills has been announced by officials of the company here. The plan went into effect July 15. This is the second time within a month that the Carrboro Plant, -a division of Pacific Mills, has an nounced, special benefits for its employees. Vacation Pay for those who had completed a year of serv ice prior to June 1 was announced last month by David Arthur, resi dent manager. + In announcing the hospitalization benefits, Arthur said: “We want all of our employees to have the pro tection and security such a plan affords in time of illness.” Employee members of the plan; union at the American Legion hut near Mebane Sunday.
