Irving Davis sponsored a movie in interest of the Dickerson AME church choir at the Hillsboro high school. The picture was of a re ligious type. The local PTA entertained at a square dance at the Community Center during the past weekend. The program was a featureof school assemblies. This group pre sents programs all over the entire nation. At present we have a phonograph. Our principal, Mrs. Ethel Stan ton Clark is very pleased with the accomplishments made by the PTA and other clubs. We wish to.thank all. The sixth grade has an inter esting unit on India. India is a land of extreme poverty, although her natural stand com parison with those of many more highly advanced countries. 0. C. T. S. The Chapel Hill Chapter of the New Farmers of America have started a project of repairing and refinishing old furniture that is brought in by the members from their homes and other that is do nated to the organization by citi zens of the community. The pur pose of the project is to prepare for an auction sale this spring in an effort to secure funds by which to attend the 1947 National New Farmers of America Convertion which will be held in Greensboro, next summer, and to help carry out -their program of work on home and health improvement. With the necessary finance the boys will select one home in the community and will show how cheaply home improvement can be accomplished. The members of the New Farm ers of America are making an ap peal'to’all citizens for old furni ture of any description and in any shape such as chairs, tables, stools beds, lamps, rugs and any other pieces that people are not using and would donate to the project.
