Young Democrats Plan Reorganization Plans for a “Kickoff Dinner” February- 8 at Sedgefield Inn heat Greensboro, preceding “Statewide Reorganization Week” February 10-16 of the Young Democratic Clubs of North Carolina were formed by key officials of the or ganization at a weekend meeting recently. The Statewide Kickoff Dinner will be followed by local chapter dinners throughout North Carolina. It was also announced following the Gastonia weekend planning meeting that the Young Democrats will actively support legislation now before the 1947 General Assembly to lower the voting age in North Carolina from 21 to 18. Buckner, is an ex-combat veteran of the famous 18th Infantry Regiment of the 1st Infantry Division which partici pated in outstanding battles in the European Theater of Operations of World War II and he holds the Bronze Star for meritorious ser vice in these battles. Schools to Get Orange Jnice For Lunch Rooms Orange juice will be added soon lo the menus of the Orange county school lunchrooms, R. H. Clay "or, county superintendent of schools, disclosed this week. Mr. Claytor said the Orange county board of education has re ceived 240 gallons of orange con centrate, purchased in Florida by fhe U. S. Department of Agricul ture with school lunch funds. Re constituted, one part juice to six parts water, the concentrate will provide the equivalent of 1,680 gallons of fresh juice. Distribution of the concentrate, Mr. Claytor said, will be made to all schools in th»' ing under the National School Lunch Program.
