All members of the Orange County Union are being urged by leaders to come to a special meet ing to be held Friday, October 23, at the Hillsboro High School, at 8 o’clock. This meeting is called for 'the purpose of dividing the origi nal organization and setting up a chartered credit uniop in the Hills boro area so as to better serve the people because of the distance fac tor. Lee McCauley died at his home Monday afternoon, October 11, at 4 o’clock following an illness of several months. He was a native of Orange County. Survivors in clude his wife, Mrs. Gary McCau ley; five children, Walter, Lee Jr., Pactrica Ann, John Roberts, Lu them James; four brothers, David, Luther, Clay and Will; five sisters, Lula Oldham, Lois, Savannah Har ris, Beulah Webb and Nora John son. -—- , ..«■ Mrs. Odell Jeffries and her 'twins' Eugene and Elmer, arrived from their home in Greensboro Sunday to spend a long stay with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Jeffries, in Cedar Grove. H. O. Gore was weekend guest of Miss R. L. Bellamy here, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Rus sell. Mr. Gore is a native of Long-i wood, a town near Supply, N. C.,' the home town of Miss Bellamy. Mr Gore is at present a student at A. and T. College, Greensboro. Wilson (Happy) Ruffin was critically injured in a car wreck near his home in Greensboro. He is now in hospital in Greensboro. Many music lovers enjoyed a good program of songs at Hills boro High School auditorium Sun day, October 17. The participants included: Dickens Chapel, A. M. E. Church Choir, the Junior Choir of Mount Bright Baptist Church, Sunrise Jubilee Singers of Hills boro, and Mrs. M. D. McPherson. This program was sponsored. by Nocho Walker, for the benefit of the Hillsboro High School band. The fourth annual 4-H calf show was conducted at the Ridge Road Neighborhood School, Wednesday, October 13.
