Rudy Hardee who has been a Patient in Watts Hospital was uri ~?le to return to his home last Thursday. Claborne Oakley, Carrboro Postmaster, who has been serious ly ill in Watts Hospital for the Past ten days is mneh improved. Attend* Convention - Mrs. F. B. Clark of Brevard is spending this week' here with rel atives while her husband the Rev . B. Clark is in Raleigh attend ing the Baptist State Convention m Raleigh. The Rev. and Mrs. Clark arrived here last Sunday and Mr. Clark went over to Ral eigh on Monday to attend confer ences of pastors and educational workers held in the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Raleigh on Monday afternoon «Snd evening preceding the opening of the con vention on last Tuesday morning The Reverend Mr. Clark is in the Associational Field Worker for the Translyvania Association. -o The Reverend Troy E. Jones, pasto/ of the Carrboro Baptist Church, and several other church workers from the church in Carr boro are attending the meeting of the Baptist State Convention be ing held in Raleigh this week. -o ! Birth of Son ! Mr. and Mrs. Clarence McFar ; land announce the birth of a son, ; Clarence Rodwell, Nov. 12, in 1 Watts Hospital, Durham. Mrs. Mc | Farland is the former Miss Inez Smith of Carrboro. Auxiliary Notes Miss Josie Mae Hardee was in charge of the Young Woman’s Auxiliary program on Tuesday evening of this week at the home of the Auxiliary leader, Miss Doris Lindsay, in Carrboro.. Miss Har dee used as her topic “Christ A Prophet or Saviour.” The meeting was well attended and members present enjoyed the program which was well prepared and car ried out in an interesting manner. ---- Birthday Jake Hardee was honored on his 21st birthday last Sunday at a family dinner party given at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. I. F. Hardee, in Carrboro. Ap proximately 25 were present for a family reunion and dinner party. Shower For Mrs. Perry Mrs. James Perry was honored at a miscellaneous shower on her birthday last Friday evening by Mrs. Earle Perry, Mrs. Raymond Perry and Mrs. Hoyt Perry who served as co-hostesses for the oc-. casion. The party was held m the Carrboro Methodist Church Hut, which was tastefully ’ decorated with arrangements of fall flowers and colorful leaves. Interesting games enjoyed by the group were led by Mrs. Hoyt Perry who was also in charge of J decorations and prize awards.
