STATEMENT OF RESULT
OF SPECIAL BOND ELECTION
--held in the -—*—
COUNTY OF ORANGE,
NORTH CAROLINA
on NOVEMBER 22, 1949
At a special bond election held
throughout Orange County, North
Carolina, on November 22, 1949
11,278 voters were registered and
qualified to vote. —' . ..
3,621 votes were cast for the
order authorizing not exceeding
$1,000,000 School Building Bonds,
of Orange County for the purpose
of providing funds, with other
funds available "for such purpose,
for erecting additional school
buildings and acquiring any neces
sary land and equipment there-;
for, and a tax for said bonds, and
1,159 votes were cast against said
order, and that a majority of the
qualified voters of said. County,
voted, in favor of said order, and
that said- .order was, thereby ap- i
proved and is in force and effect.
3,293 votes were cast for the
order authorizing not exceeding
$250,000 Courthouse Bonds of
Orange County for the purpose of
providing funds for erecting and
equipping a new courthouse upon
the site now owned by said County
near the present courthouse, and
a tax for said bonds, and 1,322
votes were cast against said order,
and that a majority of the qualified
voters of said County voting there
on at said election voted in favor
of said order, and that said order
was thereby approved and is in
force and effect.
This statement is given by the
order of the Board of Commission
ers for the County of Orange, this
25th day of November, 1949.
