On Thursday, October 4th, the Woman’s Auxiliary will meet in the School of Nursing Auditorium. Following a brief business session, the meeting will be divided into Workshops where on the Job train ing in the six major fields of vol unteer service will be demonstrat ed This will show new members of the auxiliary how a neto worker is instanced before she is sent out on her job and will give work ers an insight into all the fields of service so that in an emergehcy they could volunteer to help in any of-the services. Consultant? from other hospi tals will also be on hand tor the workshops and will help with ex planations and suggestions which trill make the volunteer program even more effective. The Woman’s Auxiliary is made UP of women from the whole com munity—Chapel Hill, Carrboro arid the rural communities of Orange and surrounding counties. There are many volunteer jobs to be filled | by people of varying interests, and Warner, Webb, Powell Head Fund Drives “Three outstanding leaders of the Orange County Negro com munities will again head the Di* vision Boy Scout Drive on Octob er 2,” according to A. L. Stanback, Divisional Commissioner. Roosevelt Warner will head the drive again for the Hillsboro Com munity, H. H. Webb, Cedar Grove Principal will lead his community in the drive as will Powell Wood son, Jlfland school principal. C. the success of this necessafy and rewarding work depends upon the women of the community who find a way to give a few hours a Week to hospital service. This first meet ing will introduce volunteers, old and new, to these jobs they will fill in the hospital. The six workshops into which the meeting will be divided will include the shop where volunteers will learn how to load the hospital ity , cart and take it through the halls to the patients, the admitting offic where volunteers assist 1n helping incoming patients to reg ister and their families to become acquainted with the hospital, in- j formation desk and clinic, the H- i brary room and the library cart which is pushed to the patient’s j rooms, the ‘pediatrics floor when volunteers help with the chil dren’s activities and the band age room. There will be ample parking space for the meeting in the hos pital parking areas, and the auxil iary invites all interested people to attend the meeting to see how tKe volunteer program is put into ffect.
