Wildcats Lose j To Southern By One Point In the last six minutes Ken Stal lings of Southern High scored six quick points and enabled Southern's Rebels to edge Hillsboro High Wild cats 42-41, in a District Three thril ler at Durham Tuesday night. Southern managed aq 11-7 lead at the end of the first period, but Hills boro went ahead, 21-19, at the half time. From the time the Wildcats took a 15-13 lead until there were only five minutes left in the contest, Hillsboro was out front. The Wildcats had a 10-point lead in the third stanza, before Southern was able to whittle it down to six points, 33-27 at the end of the period. But then with Tom mith and Stal lings leading the way, the Rebels pulled the game out of the fire. Thurston Yates fouled out with six minutes to go, and Coach Jim Blake sent Stallings into the Rebel lineup. The sophomore scored a field goal and four quick free throws to narrow the Wildcats'^ lead to two points. > * Then Larry Ferrell followed with a field goal that tied the count at 41-41 with just 24 seconds showing on the clock.
