It should be pointed out that all of
these increases have been added in
order to bring about greater effici
ency. Also some of these new build
ings are being used to replace old
and obsolete buddings. Because of
the extremely low price* during

present a few poultry houses in
county that are not being used.
Hubert Carter, of the Buckhorn
Community, who has a large cage
laying operation, is in the process
of building a concrete block egg
handling and storage room. This
very modern facility will have am
ple apace for grading and handling
eggs. It will be equipped with a
large cooling roam.

6 Raids Noted In July Report
Sheriff C. D. Knight reported to
the County Cotnmissiooers that dar
ing the month of July his depart
ment conducted six raids and made
eight investigations.
There were S3 arrests, .46 civil
gepers served and IS subpoenas
Served on witnesses before court.
Fines and costs given by Court
during July to defendant in oases
Originating in the Sheriff's Dept,
totaled $290.40 $147.39 was collected
by this department for serving civil
papers. •
A total of .three months was giv
en defendants in cases originating
in the Sheriff’s Dept, that were
placed on probation or given sus
pended sentences.
The following trips were made
out of Orange County: Two trips
to' Butner to take patients; two
trips to Goldsboro to take patients
and one trip to Raleigh for investi
gation.
