AT ST. MARY’S
“Color Design in a Room,” was
the topic for the demonstration
given by Miss Jessie Trowbridge,
home agent, to the St. Mary’s'
Home Demonstration Club in the
home of Mrs. Henry Walker at
the September meeting, Mrs. Carl
Walker was co-hostess.
Following the demonstration in
which Miss Trowbridge showed
how to use color, she divided the
group into threes to select colors
for a room.
Mrs. Bill Miller gave the de
votion. Miss Laura Watkins, Home
Garden Leader, gave a project
report. Mrs. Gordon Barbour re
ported on the Workshop which
was held in Hillsboro.
During thi business session the
Club decided to hold a workshop
at St. Mary”s’ Grange Hall last
Thursday arid today. Following
the book review, applications and
accomplishment reports were giv
en. The meeting was-adjourned
with the Ciub Collect.
Refreshments were served bv
the hostesses to 17 members and
one visitor during the social
hour.

The Walnut Grove Methodist
Church will hold a Harvest Fes
tival Saturday evening beginning
with an auction sale at 2 o’clock.
On sale will be farm produce
canned goods, handwork, home
made cakes and pies and other
items.
Supper will be served from 5
to 8 o’clock and will consist of
barbecue, brunswick stew, cake,
pic, foffee and cold drinks.

at Watts Hospital. They have one
other son, Paul Kevin, 3 V2 years
of age. Mrs. Hodge is the former
Colean Riley, daughter of Mrs.
Alexander Riley of Hillsboro and
the late Mr. Riley.

Mrs. Petain Berry and children,
Ronnie and Stevie, spent the past
weekend in Durham with Mrs.
Berry’s sister and family, Mr. and

will go to Hamlet Saturday and

announce the birth of a daughter,
Carrie Diane, at Watts Hospital
Monday, Oct. 12. Baby Nichols
weighed 8 pounds and 8V4 ounces.
They have a son, $ammy, five
years of age. Mrs. Nichols is the
former Miss Margaret Miller.
