Grangers are now considering
rural zoning for the county
Orange County grangers are cur
rently considering the advisability
of rural zoning regulations.
The matter of rural zoning was
recently aired before the County j
Commissioners by a Research
Triangle representative who sug
gested it would be helpful to de
velopment in the three-county
area.
County Farm Agent Don Math
eson said that Pomona Grange
■aster Harry Woods of Schley is
ehairman of a three-member com
mittee also including Parker Rol
and and Mrs. Quentin Patterson
that is studying the zoning idea to
aee whether' ‘baV' areas over the
County would be better off under
aaoiac.
At the present time only a 20
square mile area around Chapel
Hill has such controls. The Grange
committee has come to no con
clusions yet. Matheson said, but
“is going at the matter pretty
thoroughly."
