Five Orange County aod Dur
ham youths have been given fines
and suspended sentences for bur
glarizing and wreaking destruc
tion at the Chapel Hill American
Legion Clubhouse.

Judge L. J. Phipps allowed pros
ecution to be dropped on felonious
breaking and entering charges
brought against the five in con
nection with the July 7 night-time
robbery.
All pleaded nolo contendere to
B misdemeanor charges of larceny
and were given fines from $25
to $50 apiece and suspended roads
sentences of six to 16 months. In
addition the court imposed a to
tal of $800 in charges on the de
fendants for damages to the build
ing and furnishings.

recovered, except for a small

auxiliary group is to be tamed
at a Friday luncheon in the Caro
lina inn.
The Association’s business meet
ing is scheduled far Friday after
noon and the convention will end
with a Friday evening banquet
