Cancer Society re-elects Nagelsckmidt; Crusade nets almost $8,000 Joe Nagelschmidt was re-elected to a one-year term as President of the Orange County Unit of the American Cancer Society at a meeting last Thursday. Dr. Rich ard E. Richardson was elected Vice-President and Chairman* of the Executive Committee. Other officers elected for 1969 61 were: W. A. Terrill, Treasurer; Mrs. Robert L. McXee, Chairman of the Budget Commit:ee; J. Her bert Holland, Chairman of the Cancer Crusade; Claude C. Wheeler, Chairman of the Educa tion Committee; O. E. Brown, Chairman of the 'Nominations committee; and Henry C. Hurl burt, Chairman of Memorial Giv ing. Officers selected to serve a sec ond term in the same positions were: Mrs. Richard I. Levin, Sec retary; Mrs. C. F. Falconer, Chairman of the Service Commit tee, and Dr. John T. Sessions, Chairman of the Professional Ed ucation Committee. Dr. William S. .Joyner, who had served for two years as vice president, was selected as mem ber-at-large. Robert V. Cox ac cepted the appointment as" Chair man of the Cancer Crusade for 1962. The following persons were pre sented with awards for meritori ous service in the Unit: Mrs. Mc Kee, Dr. Joyner, Mr. Hurlburt, J. H. Koon, Mrs. Samuel H. Ma gill and Mrs. John B. Adams, all of Chapel Hill. Also, Wiley P. Franklin of Carrbcro, Mrs. Thom as Kale of Efland, and J. M. Mur free and Mrs. Clyde Roberts cf Hillsboro. cki Mr. Hurlburt, who served as AAUP chapter to hear President's 'comments' The fall meeting of the local chapter of the American Associa tion of University Professors will be held in the Faculty Lounge of the Morehead Plane.arium nex.
