Williams Last Sunday afternoon, Mr. and Mrs. Atlas Green Williams of Hillsboro celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary with an open house, given by their children, Mr. and Mrs. Al ton Reid Williams of Hillsboro and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Locke Conrad of Wrightsville Beach. Mr. and Mrs. Williams are life long residents of Hillsboro and were married October 12, 1910 in a home ceremony. Mrs. Williams is the former Carrie Moss Dunn daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Guion Williams. Both families being natives of Orange county. Mr. and Mrs. Williams have three grandchildren. His birthday was I October 6. The following classmates and friends of Greg were served re freshments which included a birth day cake centered with a rocket and colors of red, white and blue were used in decorations: Doug Bivins, Johnny Couch, Keith Rose mond, Mark Gordon, Gordon Cole, David Ballard, Hal Patterson and Kenneth Wallace. The honored guest and his friends attended a show at the local theatre. AWAY Dr. and Mrs. Charles E. Mad dry left yesterday with Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Severance for Mont gomery, Ala. and visiting with them at their home at 3743 Berk ley Ave. Mr. and Mrs. Alton Williams greeted the guests upon their ar rival and directed them to the receiving line, which was com posd of the honorees, their chil dren and grandchildren. Mrs. Hattie Williams, Mrs. Her bert Riley and Mrs. Allan Lloyd presided over the -guest book. Mrs. J. W. Dickson invited guests into the dining room. The refreshment table was covered with an imported lace cloth, over gold satin, and centered with an arrangement of yellow roses, car nations and pom-poms, flanked by gold candles in crystal can dlebra. The five-tiered wedding cake was decorated with golden roses and topped with roses, wedding bells and lace. Mrs. John F. Wil liams of Cary and Mrs. C. G. Har rell, Sr. of Durham, served cake. At the punch bowl were Mrs. J. Taylor Bivins and Mrs. Foy Bart lett. Neices of Mr. and Mrs. Wil liams assisted in the dining room. Goodbyes were said to Mrs. .mmjm mi hi in MR. & MRS.
