Mill Rd. neighborhood in Chapel
Hill appeared before the County
Commissioners sitting ns the
Board of Education and Review

of the heavy dust from the un

They’ve been hoping to get their
roads paved on a participating

payments now pending settle

ESCAPADES OF SCARLETT
Scott’s ill-fated pink horse were
revived Monday night when Chap
el Hill police rescued Kemp Nye’s
tin elephant from two students
who had it in tow apparently re
turning it to its station in front
of the downtown music shop.
Larceny charges were considered
against the pair. But the issue
was dropped at Kemp’s request.
He said the pachyderm model ac
tually belonged to one of the
boys anyhow. The animal had
been painted pink and be-slogan
ed before the cops rescued it.
Similarly Scarlett Scott’s pink
merry-go-round horse, which she
intended as a front yard symbol
for her curio shop, was several
times swiped and painted up by
college students before she gave
it up in despair a few years ago.
