Members attending were: Mrs. Chandler Cates, Mrs. Foy Bartlett, Mrs. Vance Isenhour, Mrs. Harold Bivins, Mrs. Ted Smith, Mrs. Russell Rogers, Mrs. Anne Rhule, Mrs. Vance Martin, and Mrs. John Ballard, j VISIT Mr. and Mrs. Leon Burkhead spent Sunday in Greensboro visiting with his parents. p> Driver injured ' when tractor falls on him Leroy Miller, Hillsboro busi nessman, was painfully injured Tuesday afternoon when the tractor he was driving on his farm north of town flipped over and fell on him. According to members of his family, Miller’s leg was mashed to the bone and a rib was brok en in the accident. He is hos pitalized. Reports of the accident indi cated Miller was plowing a field with his tractor when its sub soiler attachment hit a stump and the tractor completely flip ped over backwards. He was thrown from the seat, but his leg was caught. With the motor running and gasoline dripping over him, he was able to cut off the motor and drag himself from the tractor. Marvin Phelps, a neighbor, was working in a near by field and heard his calls, to render help. 4 RETURNS Miss Joy Carr, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G Paul Carr, re turned home today from Sky - land Camp. Clyde. N. C., where she has been on the staff for eight weeks. Joy is a rising sen ior at the University of North Carolina where she is majoring in Science Education. HOME Remus J. Smith Sr. returned to his home on W. Queen Street last Thursday after being a pa tient in Watts Hospital for sev eral days. BRIDGE Mrs K. C. Winecoff was host ess to the Women’s Bridge Club yesterday. The Couples Bridge Club will meet with Mr. and Mrs. Bob Strickland of the Fairview Com munity Saturday night. HERE Mr. and Mrs. Richard Kahn and daughter, Leigh, of Michi gan City. Indiana, are spending 10 days here with Mrs. Kahn’s mother. Mrs. Bertha Crawford, of Occoneechee Street. BUSICKS LEAVING The Rev. and Mrs. Verlin Bu sick and family are moving Tuesday to Kildee in Randolph County where Mr. Busick has accepted a call to serve the Kil dee Pilgrim Holiness Church. The Busicks have lived here in Hillsboro for six and a half years and in telling us of their leaving they wished to express their appreciation to the friend liness of the people of Hillsboro to them during their stay here. It is reported that the Smiths are enjoying good health. The Rev. Mr. Smith, who was 85 years old Aug. 8, preached Sun day at the country church in Kannapolis which he had joined 75 .years ago.
