Garden club will meet in the county museum The Hillsboro Garden Club will meet next Thursday, Nov. 9, at 'the Orange County Historical Mu seum. | The public is cordially invited to the program beginning at 4 | o’clock. The Orange County Historical Museum- was founded by the Hillsboro Garden Club and is sup ported financially by the Garden Club, The museum is located up stairs in the old courthouse. Wayne H. Cooksey, 46, fs victim of suicide Wayne H. Cooksey, 46-year-old assistant manager for foods at the Carolina Inn, was found shot to death on a Durham street Sun day night. Durham County Coro j ner, Dr. D. R. Perry ruled the | shooting suicide. | Cooksey died instantly from a single shot fired in the heart with a .32 caliber revolver. The body was discovered short ly after 8 p. m. by a passerby who | reportedly thought the man had been hit by a car. Cooksey’s pockets were said to be completely empty, except— for one. piece of paper bearing a ..suicide. note. According to Sheriff Mangum, the note gave no indication of Cooksey’s reason for taking his life, but gave the identity of his two sisters living in Durham and: told where they could be reached. The note also gave the directions as -to what should be done with his body. Cooksey, a native of Monticello, ........ lived with one of his - sisters, *, Mrs. Kate Cooksey Hall.
