Voters of Orange will go to the polls for bond vote Tues. Orange County voters will join, citizens "’across North Carolina next Tuesday by tasting ballots in a $61.6 million bond referendum. Tbe^poHs in ^ county precincts will be open — from 6:30 a. m. to b:30 p. m. Voters will receive a* single ballot and will have to individually mark ea h of the issues on the ballot for which they wish to ex press a choice—That is, it will not be possible to mane a single *'X” for or against all issues. During the recent three-week period of registration for new voters gtccund 200 names were added to the rolls, according to Board of Elections Secretary Clvde Carter. Mrs. Taylor and Mrs. J. VV. Maultsby, general chairman of Christmas House, have been collecting and storing the clothing during the drive. One phase of the drive—that of collecting all types of shoes and clothing for the four mem bers of the retarded children’s class — will continue throughout the year and League members are asked to keep this in mind when putting away outgrown clothes. The children range in age from 8 to 12. Mrs. Frances Hargraves teaches the class. “This is such a small number of children to fake care of” Mrs. Taylor said, “that we should be able to do something really worth while here.” Christmas House will carry on the work this year that was be gun by Empfv Stocking 11 years ago. Sheriff Buck Knight identified the victim as Kenton Kyle. 23, graduate student from Shinniston, W. Va.. ■ "There is no reason why he should have overturned if he hadn’t been speeding," Knight said. Employees had worked at the dirt track until midnight Friday. When they returned to the track early Saturday they found the wrecked car and Kyle’s body. Sheriff Knight said Kyle appar ently had entered the track by moving' a barricade and putting it back in place. He planned to be a minister.
