CHAPEL HILL FIREMEN AN •wered a frantic telephone alarm to come to the Chapel Hill Week ly office at 3:05 p.m. Tuesday. Smoke from paper burning on the newspaper press poured throughout the building, but the flames were quickly doused. It was understood that a spark from a pump motor beneath the press ignited cleaning fluid which in turn caught the paper web on fire. Damage was report ed to be negligible. Immediately to the left are the two 2-story classroom wings. The small building to the far left be tween the classroom wings is the library. To the rear of the auditorium is the lunchroom and kitchen on the left and the band room on the right and adjacent thereto is the boiler room, easily identified by the smokestack shown here. The area to the right of the entrance foyer dnd auditorium is the gymnasium and the building at far right is lhe industrial arts and vocational agriculture shop. The dotted line area near the center of the photo represents additional future classroom and lunchroom con struction when they are needed. A football stadium in a natural contour is shown at top of the layout. A planned; parking area is located just outside the pictured area to the left and a baseball diamond to the right.
