The first of these Is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 12, hi the! Commissioners’ Room at the Courthouse in Hillsboro at 2 o'clock. At that time Jack Kel ley, one of fixe South’s outstand ing authentic* from State Col lege, -will- he on hand to discuss the latest research on bow to mdbe - more- money with hois. This meeting should be a “must” for every swine produofer at Or ange or the surrounding boun ties. The second event is an all day area tour scheduled by Jack Smith, Jr,, Assistant County Agent in Person Coun ty, to visit the Caledonia Pris on Farm at Tillery, and the Julian Edwards' farm near Jackson on Thursday, Feb. 14. Ail producers from Durham, Orange, and Parson Counties are invited to attend this tour. Each or these farms carry c ver MO sows in their herd. This tour should offer an excellent opportunity to see how large hog operations are carried on- Plans are to meet at the County Ag ent’s office in the Courthouse in Roxboro, to pool" cars and leave Roxboro by 8 a. m. Or ange County producers planning to go on this tour should advise their local County Agent’s of fice a few days in advance. 4-H FAT STEER TOUR The Four-H leaders of High Hope, Schley, and Caldwell Def ers have planned a tour to see some of the Four-H fat steers. The tour win begin Saturday, Feb 9, at 1 p. m., at Flint Ham lin’s Store. The steers of the following club members will be visited: Tommy Hamlin; John Mike Walter; Gattis and Nicky Walker; Earl T. McKee; Steph en James; Ben and Ray Nichols; Rachel and Joe Phelps; Lois, Paul and Mark Latta; Eddie Greene; Mike Tapp; and Peter and Bill Fudge. Then the group will meet in the basement of the New Hope Presbyterian Church to see some Four-H exhibits and have refreshments.
