As a matter of fact, authorities point out, if a fellow wants to have the time that he puts his mail in the postoffice officially des ignated, the clerks will b^Jpd to mark the letter or parcel as of the precise minute the matter -* is received. TALL IN THE POLITICAL saddle at last Saturday’s Young Democrats banquet in Chapel Hill were a number of well-known ward-heeling vote getters: Bob Scott of Hawfields, candidate for lieutenant governor, looking quite at . home among his fellow brt^tchhead boys; Robert Morgan of ' Harnett County, brain-trhster of Beverly Lake’s; and Joe Branch of Enfield, eastern cam paign manager for Dan Moore. While there were no visitors in behalf of Rich Preyer, he had a vocally patriotic sprinkling of partisans amongst the home crowd. . , ONE OF THE MOST ATTRAC tive downtown remodeling jobs done in many a moon is that now being carried out on the old ZBT • fraternity house on W. Rosemary St. by Mrs. John Foushee. She’s completely re-doing the old two sfory brick dwelling to spruce it up and make it into an office building for Mr. Foushee’s real estate and insurance firm. MOST IN NEED OF A Simi lar sprucing up now is the new ly-bared and unsightly expanse of store exits now visible from Rosemary St. across the soon-to be-completed municipal parking lot in mid-town Chapel Hill. Some of the tenants are plan-' ning repainting and renovations for their back-side entrances. Town and Campus has already done this. Rumors are rife on candidate possibili ss. One being bruited about, rt not at all Confirmed, is that County Commissioner Gordon Cleaveland will seek this post. There is much shuffling of feet by other possible racers at the starting gate, too. ; DESPITE, OR PERHAPS BE ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ** ★ ★ ★ ★ ■ ★ ★ ★ ★ Co-workers win civic honors...
