Brown Gordon is back in circulation after a serious illness.
The Sidney Greens are baek home in Mountain View after 6 weeks
in Florida.
The groups touring the old town just about every day plus
the crowds at the “trespassing” trials give this place a festive air.
We hear that the heavy rains of about two weeks ago flooded
the roof of the new Agriculture building and did considerable
damage to interior ceilings and walls. We don’t know whether it
was due to faulty planning, inferior workmanship,, or poor main
tenance—but .it would appear that we taxpayers will foot the bill.
“ ~ BASEBALL—According to the latest information, Flint Ham
lin of Caldwell will devote his promotional and managerial talents
to Pony League baseball this year, Wiley Kiger will take over the
regular Caldwell baseball team that plays in a hot eague. We hear
that Jfoe Barnes is having a good season pitching for Pfeiffer Col

POLITICS—There are lots of roadside signs, but have you seen
this one? “My Preyer is Moore votes for Lake.”
There is a little old book entitled “The New Doctor” by Eliza
beth Seifert. We quote:
“That was the spring before a national election, and of course
the silly season'was upon them. In its natural state, the neighbor
hood was Democratic; the newcomers to the community, gome of
the professors at the University’s experimental farm, some of the
doctors at the clinic, some of the rich horse raisers and orchard
farmers, were Republican. The Chamber of Commerce made up
some signs to put about, not entirely as a gag.
“This is your home—
--You live, here . ~'V
; Before election, . r
Keep your friends (
During election.”
This just might very well apply before a Democratic Primary.
Also we pass this along to campaign workers—“There is a holy
mistaken zeal in politics as well as in religion. By persuading
others, we convince ourselves.”—Anonymous.
Be seeing you,
