erected there. Autos get up a

this long block. With four mov

It’S A MODEST COURTESY,
but package-laden patrons at the
Chapel Hill postdfifke are again
being aided during Christmas
week this year by uniformedjloy
Scouts of Troop 835 who are sta

ifor. them. Scoutmaster Paul
ITrembley said the boys got such
a kick out of doing this “good
turn” last year that they volun
teered to do so again. The entire
troop of 49 scouts is divided up
into teams of four boys each that
work in three three-hour shifts
daily.

THE LOCKHART TURKEY
Farm owners called us to see if
the State Department of C & D
was staging its statewide search
again this Yule to find the big
gest turkey in the state. Last
year the Lockharts had a 36
pounder that they proposed for
the Tar Heel entry in the Nation
al Turkey Show. There’s been no
publicity sent out on this promo
> tion tins year, but the Lockharts
have another potential winner—
& 40-pound Broad Breasted
Brogue, they’ve given to 14. Qm.
Elect Bob Scott to grace his fam
