Chase DIrlden of 400 Per Gent.
The directors of the Chase Na
tional Bank, New York, have
declared a dividen of 400 per cent,
payable to the stockholders of
record on Nov. 30. This is a
step in the plan to increase the
panic's capital from $1,000,000
$5,000,000, which was decided
upon by the stockholders last
week This dividen of $4,000,
000 will be paid to the stock
holders on Dec. 12, and on the
same dny payment will be made
by the stockholders of an equal
amount to bring the capital of the
bank up to $5,000,000. The
formal announcement of the divi
dend issued yesterday states that
after this increase in capital the
bank will have, besides its
capital of $5,000,000, a surplus
fund of $4,000,000.
