KdH'OR: I am glad to know that the entire cotton growing action of the South is now taking decided steps to try as far as possible to regu late the price of cotton. This is a move ment that should enlist the hearty co operation of every lover of Southern prosperity, not only the farmer but merchant, manufacturer, professional man or what not. So Mr. Cabarrus man I care not what your profession or trade, come out and urge your neigh bor to attend your township meeting meeting Dec. 30th, at 2 p. m. and elect delegates to attend our county meeting Saturday, Dec. 31st, at 12 o'clock at the court house. Mr. Cates, State Alliance Lecturer, bas been in vited to attend this meeting and ad dress us on organization. Clod Hopper. So Shepards Moving Pictures. A very small house greeted the mov ing picture show last night at the op era house. It was a bad evening for such a performance for the city was busy with Christmas and did not have time to go to the opera. The work done by this troup is first class. Mov ing pictures may not attract many but others delight in them, and the latter 1H have been well oleased with the Shepard exhibition, for therlf was shown a high class of Work, new pictures, and well presented. Officer Johnson is chief pro tern dur ing Mr. Bogers absence from the city hall. Mr. Ernest Correll arrived yesterday afternoon from Mebane where he is one of the instructors in the Bingham School. Mr. Correll will spend the holidays in the city with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Correll. Mr. J. Frank Haithcox, who has been with the Metropolitan Life In surance Co., for sometime has resign ed position. He has not yet decided what he will do but will probably re main in Statesville.
