The heavily-vein ed leaves come in threes; the pretty flowers are yellowish green; the clustering fruits are round. Plants resembling this description should be a voided; the nature lover who itches with curiosity to find out how they smell or feel may end up with less curio, city and a lot more itch. Poison sumac, another com. man menace, is a tall plant or treelet that grows mostly in cool, moist, swamp areas. Affected akin areas, and the watery leakage from blisters, are highly infectious. Severity depends on how sus ceptible you are and how in tense was your contact with the treacherous plant. An at tack can last from a couple of days to couple of weeks or longer. No specific cure is known, but relief from itching my be obtained by washing the affected area promptly with soap and water, sponging with rubbing alcohol, and applying calamine lotion. "Would some bread and butter do?" "Well, thank you, no not today, Ma'am," the tramp re plied shuffling away. "You see, this is my birthday."
