"Snoopy" home. It was her Mother's Day present.
Dana had asked his mother earlier if he could

The Recreation Center of Erwin Mills will
award prizes again this year for the best home
decorations for Christmas. The judging will be
one night between December 21, and 25 by judges
from out of town.

Terry Paul Young, 17, a stu
dent at Davie High and resident
of the Rtoerdale Road on Route
4, MockaviHe, was killed Friday
night in a car wreck.
The car in which he was riding
crashed into a bridge abuttment
and rammed two rail sections

The past week can be called
"Senior Citizens Week."
Beginning on Tuesday even
ing, they were entertained by
the sponsoring Civics Club along
with the husbands of the Civics

was an enjoyable occasion. Mr.
Charles Beidler led the group
ringing and Mr. Joel Pate read
the Christmas story from Luke's
gospel. A local string quartet,
composed of Chuck Spencer,
Bill Jones, Jack Jerome and Bill
Chandler was quite lnanorous.
The Cochmen Barber Shop

Fisher of Greenville, S. C., Dick
Martin Charlotte, Bob Dockham
of Salisbury and G. H. Spry of
Salisbury, gave a most en

Door prizes were *on by John
Gabbart, Mrs. Rosanna Swink,
Mrs. Harmon McMahan, Mrs.
C. R. Ridenhour and Mr. Frank
Femriger. Prises were also
awarded to the following: Mr.
Arthur Howard, oldest man
present; Mrs. J. D. House,
oldest woman present and Mr.
and Mrs. Freak Penniger, mar
ried the longest.
On Sunday afternoon the
Erwin Mills annual Christmas
party was held at the mill.
There was a tour of the plant,
refreshments were served and
toys were given to all employes'
children under 12 years of age.
The Senior Citisens wen also
invited to attend. In spite of
a down poor of rain, many were
able to ohasife the many
changes snd improvements that
had been made recently.
Monday was the ammal
Christmas dinner pnavided by

of the Baptist Ctarch. All
