l-Oirttimi SI, IMB. You Name It This funny looking sweet potato was found last week by Mr. Verdie Cornatzer In the CooLeemee Super Market. The sweet Potatoes were purchased •. from Mr. J. W. Barber of Route 1, Mt. Ulla. Mrs. Barber was just as amazing as Verdie, when she saw it for the first time. It was overlooked dining the digging, curing and washing process and, of course, she's taken quite a bit of kidding from the gang at the Super Market about the kind of potatoes they grow. But as usual, Verdie Cornatzer had the answer ''Your sweet potatoes are so good" he explained to Mrs. Barber, "that they decided to grow hands so ttiey could eat each cither." He continued, "I just hope they dont start growing feet and jump off the truck and run away before you get them. to the store." The staff at Crossnore find It hard to believe that people, like (base from Oooleemee, are willing to spend their only days off from their regular jobs to do this type of work. With the exception of Dob Hoyle, none of the other people have children there or even knew anyone at Ctosanore until after they had made their first trip to do some work at the school. The staff and the children find it very hard to find words to thank these people but have made it known to them that the people in Cooleemee have done a lot for the school and shown real con cern for it F • Smriq war! 1 1 Mi Canty J m a**' M Paul S.
