For Kindergarten By July .11
Friday, July 11, will be the last day for sub
mission of kindergarten applications for parents
with children cf kindergarten age in Davie County.
The kindergarten classes wMI be conducted at
the Mocksville Primary School and the Davie Coun
ty Education Colter in Cooieemee during the 1569-70
school year. Priority is given to applicants from
low income families.
Appiw—tlon blanks may be obtained from the
Davie County Board of Education office, the Davie
County Education Center, and the Mocks ville
Elementary School. Those who have already sub
mitted applications will be notified concerning their
applications after the July 11 closing date.

4 Arrested, Charged
In Robbery-Shooting
MOCKSVILLE Four Negro
men were arrested feat week
on charges of assault and rob
bery of a Davie County service
station attendant who was shot
three times and critically woun
ded last week.
Ray Shores, Route 4,
Mocksville, was shot three
times when four Negro men
entered the Service Distributors
station south of Mocksville on
Wednesday morning, June 4.
4 Arrested last week
by Davie County sheriff's
deputies and SBI agent Jack
Rfchartbon of Salisbury were
Lawrence R. Shaw, 17, Route
S, Mocksville; Milton NeeJy, 16,
Route 2, Cleveland; Cfyde
Junior Partlow, 19, Route X,
Yadkin; and Frank Harrison,
», Route 3, Mocksville.
The four were arrested at
their homes and will be given
a preliminary hearing in Davie
County Criminal Court, pro
