RITA PREVETTE is doing nicely at her home on Watt Street after undergoing surgery at Rowan Memorial Hospital last week. MRS. EULA HOFFMAN has returned to her home in North Cooleemee after undergoing surgery at a hospital in Maryland, Va., a couple of weeks ago. She is improving MR. AND MRS. EVERETT GALES of Anderson, S. C. spent last week here visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Granville Spry and P. A. Gales. Davie Deaths And Funerals L. F. Williams Of Cooleemee COOLEEMEE - Lewis Franklin Williams, 74, of Cooleemee, died Saturday morning in Davie County Hospital. A native of Davie County, he was a son of the late Wesley and Julia Baker Williams. He was a retired textile employe and a veteran of World War One. . Survivors include an adopted son, Billy Clifton Williams of Kansas City, Mo.; five sisters, Mrs. Frances Massengale of Winston-Salem, Mrs Elva Smith of Concord, Mrs. Joe Miller of Salsibury, Mrs. Gladys Williams and Mrs Lonnie O'Neal of Cooleemee; two brothers, Joe Williams of Salisbury and Robert Williams of Kannapolis. Miss Gillean Of Woodleaf Miss Thelma Lorena Gillean of Woodleaf, died at 1:15 p.m. Saturday at Davie County Hospital in Mocksville. She had been in declining health for several months and seriously ill for two months. A native of Rowan County, she was born Aug. 30, 1904 to Mrs. Troy Wetmore Gillean and the late Chalmers Harlan Gillean MR. AND MRS. KENNETH HOFFMAN and family of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. spent last week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hoffman of Duke Street. Mrs. Broadway, 81, Of Advance MOCKSVILLE Mrs. Annie Orrell Broadway, 81, of Rt. 2, Advance, died Friday at 3:20 p.m. at the Davie County Hospital. She was born May 6, 1888, in Davie County, the daughter of the late B. C. and Angle Williams Orrell. Her husband, Charlie B. Broadway, died in 1935. She was a member of Elberton Methodist Church. Senior, Citizens Will Hold Swap Shop At Next Meeting Tbe Senior Citizens welcomed three new members to the dub at their regular meeting Moo day. There were 60 members and five visitors present.
