Two Windows Broken
In Shopping Center
The New Year has certainly started off with a
"bang," especially in the Cooleemee Shopping Center.
And if this keeps up, there won't be many plate
glass windows left.
The window of the P & N Department Store was the
first to go. Someone, apparantely clowning around on
the ice Christmas night, ran their car through the large
window, which was found when the employees arrived
for work the following day. This is being investigated by
the local sheriff's department.
The window in Cooleemee Launderette, next door,
was kicked out over the weekend. Timmy Barnes, 20,
has been charged with breaking and entering, and
public drunkedness.
The area of the Shopping Center, facing Marginal
Street, looked sort of like the saloon windows on
television, after a barroom brawl.
Most of the broken glass has been removed and the
windows will be replaced sh#tly.
