The baby boy is the proud possession of Mr. and Mrs. John S. Blackwelder, of Route 5, Mock sville. They also have a son, Johnny Dale, age 6. He weighed six pounds, !2>/2 ounces Ralph Padgett Wins Shotgun Mr. Ralph Padgett of Mock sville was the winner of the model 1100 Remington, 12 gauge automatic shotgun given away by the Cooleemee Lion's Club and the American Legion Post 54. The drawing was held on December 24, at the Cooleemee Hardware and Sporting Goods Store in the shopping center. NEW TIMEI The regularly scheduled visit of the American Netionel Rtd Cross Blood mo bile was canceled Tuesday of this week due to the inclement weather. The Bloodmobile unit visit m being re-scheduled for Monday, January 10. The unit will be set up in the Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church in Mocksville. Donors will be received between the hours of 11 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. week after next Two Windows Broken In Shopping Center The New Year has certainly started off with a "bang," especially in the Cooleemee Shopping Center. And if this keeps up, there won't be many plate glass windows left. The window of the P & N Department Store was the first to go. Someone, apparantely clowning around on the ice Christmas night, ran their car through the large window, which was found when the employees arrived for work the following day. This is being investigated by the local sheriff's department. The window in Cooleemee Launderette, next door, was kicked out over the weekend. Timmy Barnes, 20, has been charged with breaking and entering, and public drunkedness. The area of the Shopping Center, facing Marginal Street, looked sort of like the saloon windows on television, after a barroom brawl. Db vie Library I'ocksville, U C 27028 Man Arrested, Checks Recoved In Robbery A local resident, who is presently under indictment on a charge of larceny of about SSOO in Salisbury and free on bond pending superior court trial, has been arrested and charged with last week's burglary of the post office located here in the shopping center. Salisbury police, who worked in conduction with federal postal inspectors, identified the de fendant as James Paul Carter. 26, who has been residing with his sister in Cooleeme Carter is accused of entering the Cooleemee post office last Thursday night or early Friday morning, and ransacking the general delivery boxes. Stolen were a number of so cial security checks, a govern ment bond and a small amount of cash. It was reported that virtually all the loot was recov ered late Monday.
