Mill Reopens
Main Street
Burlington Industries has
announced that it will relocate a
section of Main Street at its
Cooleemee plant to give con
tinuing public access to the
thoroughfare.

Missing Butterfly?
There has been a lot of dis
cussion in the Cooleemee Super
market lately concerning Ver
die Cornatzer's missing but
terfly.
Vermeil Reavis and Marga
ret Jacobs, checkout girls, say
on several occasions, he has
even asked a couple of custom
ers if they have seen his lo6t
butterfly. He described it as
being black with yellow tipped
wings and has been missing
since his flowers quit blooming
last fall. *
The other employees at the
supermarket don't know wheth
er he has lost his "marbles" as
well, or if this is a severe case of
early spring fever.
We at the Journal feel this is
just Verdie's way of fishing for a
compliment on the front page

March Winds To Blow Soon

Attorney William E. Hall
has been appointed to the
Davie County Board of
Eelctions.
Mr. Hall replaces Grant
Daniel as the Republican
member on the board. Mr.
Daniel resigned due to
illness.
Reappointed were Dr.
Ramey F. Kemp of
Mocksville and Harold
Foster of Cooleemee, both
Democrats.
Dr. Kemp is chaicman of
the board of elections. Mr.
Foster is secretary.

School Should
Enroll Now
All children who are eligible
to enter the first grade at Cool
eemee School this fall should be
enrolled as soon as possible it
was announced this week by V.
G. Prim, school principal.
Those who are presently en
rolled in Kindergarten or Head
Start will already be enrolled,
as these entries were sent
directly to the school
Mr. Prim also said that par
ents of the eligible children
could call the school, giving the
necessary information by phone
instead of coming by in person,
if desired.

cial honor list.
To make the honor roll at ECU
a student must make a B aver
age with no grade below a C.
Nearly one in six East Caro
lina University students last fall
made high enough grades to
earn places on the university's
official honor lists.
