At least that's what Mrs. Pearle Nifong of Winston-Salem had to say
about the 90th annual Masonic Picnic in Mocksville last week.
Despite the rain that threatened to dampen the spirits of the whole
affair Martha Faircloth and Judy Thompson from the Oxford
Masonic Picnic
Gate Receipts
Total $5,005.37
Gate receipts for the
90th Annual Masonic Pic
nic... .in spite of the rainy
weather were the largest in
history.
Total receipts for the four day
period (rain cancelled out
Monday night) amounted to
$5,005.57, an increase of
$1,661.35 over last year.
However, attendance for the
event was down due to the rainy
weather last week. The in
crease was due solely to the
increase in admission prices
from .10 cents and .25 cents to
25 cents **d .50 cents.
Proceeds from the dinner,
including ticket sales and
donations, amounted to $736.50,
a decrease from the $018.25
figure of last year. This
decrease was also attributed to
the rain. However, this figure
may increase as other
donations are received.
