Vote Recount Gives Little Change No significant changes oc curred in the recount of the votes of the North Mocksville and Cooleemee precincts on Monday night. These two precincts were recounted because a tally sheet, misplaced during the counting in the North Mocksville precinct on November 3rd, gave ad ditional votes to the Democratic Candida tesin the official can vass last Thursday. Some questions were also raised about the count in Cooleemee and the board of elections decided to recount both boxes to remove any doubt about the accuracy of the totals. The official vote being cer tified by the Davie County Board of Elections is as follows: For Congress: White, 2076; Mizell, 3740. For Superior Court Solicitor. 22kid Judicial District: H. W. Burchette Will Resign At Sunday Service Rev. Charles P. Burchette, pastor of the First Baptist Church will bring his ministry of ten years to a close with the Morning Worship Hour on next Sunday morning. Rev. Burchette has accepted the position of Superintendent of Missions of the Tar River Bap tist Association in Franklin County. The center of his work will be in Louisburg There are 43 churches in the Association and Rev. Burchette will be a pastor advisor to the pastors and churches in the area. John Barber, county man ager said this week that al though a large number of per sons have already signed the Cooleemee Sanitary District Pe tition, there have been others who have not had the opportun ity. This is expected to be reme died in the next few days when those areas not yet covered will be completed. The petition is asking the County Commissioner to form a sanitary district in Cooleemee for the purpose of assuming responsibility for the water and sewage distribution system. Burlington Industries has served notice of their intentions to give up this service.
