have read and heard many; warnings
as to possible damage by bool wae
vil in North Carolina this season;
but, the grower is not the only one
prepared to profit by sueh warnings.

ing an attentive ear to these reports
and is ready to begin sales as soon
as there is an opportunity.
"We know,'* says Bruce Mabeje, ex
tension entomologist for the Agricul
tural Extension Service at State Col
lege, "that large numbers of weevils
| went into winter quarters last fall,
I that there has been a mild winter
pointing to heavy emergence of the
weevils this spring; that some^tifee:
weevils have already appeared in
South Carolina and in the laboratory
cages, and that everything seems, to
point to havy weevil damage in North
Carolina this year.
